Here's why my novel, FINDING SOMEPLACE, is very special to me:

The story is set in New Orleans, a place I fell in love with when I was very young. During the 1960s, my family frequently took the train from Natchitoches down to visit my father's family. The first of my grandparents' homes that I remember was on South Roman Street. While we spent a lot of time with aunts, uncles and cousins, Daddy made sure we experienced the city in many ways: street car rides, the French Market, and beignets. Reesie Boone and her bestie, Ayanna share some of those delicious donuts in Chapter One.
